Case of COVID-19 Reported at Tri-County School

September 02, 2020

Tri-County School was canceled on Wednesday, September 2 due to a positive COVID-19 test in the elementary. Administration said that the student had not attended school this week. Classes are expected to resume on Thursday (today), provided that contact tracing by the Daviess County Health Department determined no one else has tested positive. The school was deep cleaned on Wednesday in preparation for the return of students and staff.
Wednesday was the first day that an AMI (Alternative Method of Instruction) day was in effect for students. Online students logged into Google classroom to find class assignments to complete, while offline students completed assignments in their AMI binder, which they received during the first week of classes. Students were instructed of AMI procedures during the first week of class so they would be prepared for such an event. Attendance will be earned once assignments are turned in and students have 2 days after the return to school to turn in AMI assignments.
The first home softball game of the season against Tina-Avalon was canceled Tuesday night due to the sudden thunderstorm that rolled through the area right before the game was due to start. Senior night for the senior girls who were to be recognized Tuesday evening will be recognized at a later home game, which will be announced once scheduled. The high school softball games scheduled for Thursday (tonight) at Winston and Friday at Meadville are still on. Games are scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. Please remember to follow social distancing guidelines and/or wear masks, though they are not required at this time.
